"Growing up in the Western Isles surrounded by beautiful scenery each day inspired my passion for landscape art. As a keen amateur artist, my skills have matured over the years to a more traditional form of art with inspiration always close at hand from the beauty of the Outer Hebrides. I always wanted to capture some of the traditional ways of life like the fishing and crofting which I experienced growing up on the Isle of South Uist. Long summer holidays from school were spent with relations on the Isle of Eriskay, leading to many happy memories which inspired some of the paintings in the Eriskay fishing boat collection.

 

After moving to the East Coast of Scotland in 1984 to work in the oil industry, I was further inspired by the scenery around Aberdeenshire and the Mearns, with its high coastlines and continuous spread of beautiful farmlands. The beauty of Aberdeenshire and the Mearns can be seen throughout each season with inspiration never far away.
